There are nearly 300,000 complaints filed in my country every year, and nearly 70% of them are environmental pollution cases such as air and noise, which shows that Chinese people attach great importance to environmental quality. Therefore, the Ministry of Environment cooperates with local environmental protection bureaus to deploy air pollution sensors, and provides national-level measuring station sites to assist the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and other ministries to develop and test PM2.5 sensing components to collect air pollution data , analyze the emission hotspots of pollution sources, make the real-time status of empty products digital and transparent, improve the integrity of reference materials for inspection and pollution traceability, and expect to effectively trace the source and solve various pollution incidents.

Understanding Air Pollution Sensing IoT
To understand the types of air pollution sensing and monitoring: including national monitoring stations, smart urban and rural sensing points, campus micro-sensors, and private micro-sensors

National monitoring station
In order to promote the important basis of air quality protection and air pollution prevention and control work, its site selection is based on the emission data of pollution sources in various places, meteorological and air quality concentration distribution data, etc., after careful planning and design, the main purpose is to monitor large areas The air quality status and long-term trend of the scope.

Smart Urban and Rural Sensing Points
From 2017 to 2020, the Ministry of Environment cooperated with local environmental protection bureaus and the Central Meteorological Bureau to gradually complete the deployment of about 10,000 air pollution sensors to collect a large amount of air pollution data with intensive time resolution. After intensive sensing, data Convergence and collocation with the analysis of the data of the piped factories and other data, the identification of pollution hot spots, the traceability of emissions, and the application of relevant inspection and law enforcement are carried out.

Campus Micro Sensors
It is mostly installed in sheltered and well-ventilated places in schools. The Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Education, and the Academia Sinica jointly participate in it and apply it to campus environmental education to provide information on the relative change trend of air quality in the micro-environment and the exploration of the reasons.

Nongovernmental micro sensor
It is mostly installed on the sheltered and well-ventilated place on the balcony of the home. It is spontaneously invested and participated by the public. There are many types of models, and the purpose of use is mostly for personal and home applications. It provides information on the relative change trend of micro-environmental air quality and the exploration of the reasons.

What information does the MOENV air pollution sensor provide?

The Air Pollution Sensor of the Ministry of Environment provides temperature, relative humidity, PM2.5 and other sensing data every 3 minutes. The public can check through the Air Network of the Department (https://wot.moenv.gov.tw/) The above-mentioned air pollution sensing points generate one piece of sensing data every 3 minutes.
